Kaiser Permanente Research Interventionist Nurse (KPWHRI) in Seattle, Washington
The Research Interventionist for the Oncology Clinical Trials program utilizes professional clinical skills, education, and/or experience in clinical research patient care coordination, data collection, and project planning and implementation for complex clinical/health research trials such as federal NCI NCORP, investigator-initiated, and industry sponsored trials. Closely collaborates with NCI NCORP Investigatorsand care delivery system health care personnel in coordinating, planning, executing, and overseeing a variety of Oncology clinical research study activities. Provides direct patient care coordination related to clinical research trial management. May directly or functionally train and supervise other research staff in the conduct of clinical study procedures and protocol parameters in Oncology. Contributes professional clinical expertise, and serves as a resource to, related programmatic areas in the Kaiser Permanente Health Research Institute and in the Oncology Clinical Group Practice.
The scope of responsibility for a Research Interventionist requires the following:
Greater level of independent safety or clinical decision making
Greater level of specialized clinical knowledge
Substantial contribution to areas such as clinical research trial project intervention on study coordination and implementation, including, study feasibility reviews, screening and consenting, study material development, and study processes and procedures. Comprehensive consultation role on study protocol requirements, policies, and methodology

Seattle, KPWHRI Metropolitan Park East
- Minimum two (2) years of experience performing professional functions required by the project.
- Certifications, licenses, or degrees as determined by the needs of the research projects, such as, registered nurse, nurse practitioner, certified mental health therapist/specialist, MSW, pharmacist, physical therapist, certified health education specialist, clinical psychologist, acupuncturist.
License, Certification, Registration
- As applicable to research project and field of study by date of hire/transfer.
Experience with individual and/or group counseling and/or facilitation, and related research experience.
Knowledge of research data collection requirements and specialized clinical intervention/measurement/assessment skills as required by the projects.
A thorough understanding of regulatory policies governing industry practices, HIPAA requirements for clinical research, and knowledgeable about patient safety and quality control requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
Continual updating of skills and knowledge related to research.
- Master's degree or PhD in health-related field.
