Kaiser Permanente Senior Financial Analyst in Pasadena, California
National Facilities Services (NFS) manages the design, construction and maintenance of a significant portfolio of large and small-scale projects/buildings.
The Metrics and Analytics Center, otherwise known as MAC team, is a new data analytics center. Primary role of this team is to manage all data warehouse repositories and to oversee end-to-end process in the development of business tools, reports, metrics, and analyses that assist stakeholders at all levels of the organization gain necessary insights to drive effective business decision making and to increase operational efficiency
The primary responsibility of Senior Financial Analyst position is to coordinate and collaborate effort with all stakeholders to understand and define business needs and provide reporting and analytical solutions. Responsibilities include working closely with Business Analyst to develop data requirement, analyzing data, creating ad-hoc reports, and modifying and updating standard reports when applicable. Deliverables include interactive reports, dashboard, as well as BI applications that enable self-service reporting capabilities.
Work with stakeholders to evaluate system processes and business requirements
Implement strategies for gathering, reviewing, and analyzing data requirements
Design, develop, and maintain reporting templates and key performance metrics reports that provide actionable insights required for decision making.
Build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders to ensure their ongoing needs and requirements are met
Demonstrate fluency in business processes. Understand business workflows, identify problem and opportunities in the context of reporting requirements
Perform data analysis, develop insights, and effectively communicate the results to the stakeholders
Work closely with Business Analyst to ensure report logics and calculations are accurate
Prioritize reporting requirements and create conceptual prototypes and mock-ups and obtain buy-in from stakeholders.
Perform special requests, projects, and other tasks as assigned.
Experiences in financial reporting, producing a variety of key performance metrics reports using data mining tools are essential for this role.
Manage multiple projects, set priorities, meet required deadlines and clearly communicate status on assigned projects.
- Minimum five (5) years of directly related financial experience with analytically challenging projects.
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
Experienced with independently preparing financial analyses and reports.
Project management experience required.
Extensive knowledge of financial theories/methodologies used in corporate finance; accounting principles; statistical theories, applications and accounting/forecasting systems.
Proficient with spreadsheet software and mainframe systems.
May require user knowledge in a fourth generation programming language (e.g., SAS).
Excellent communication, presentation, analytical and report writing skills required.
Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
CPA strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and take all assignments to completion
Proven analytical, planning, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge including Power BI is required.
Experience in SQL environment and Business Objects is preferred.
Experience in Tableau Analytics is required
