We are looking for a Medical Assistant (0.5 FTE) to join theour team at the Tacoma Specialty Center. Preferably with at least one year ambulatory care experience in a larger, high volume setting, very familiar with electronic medical charting, and the ability to help provide an excellent patient experience.
In this position you will:
Provide overall rooming support to the team
Use EMR to obtain and transmit information.
Obtain pertinent history and vital signs.
Give limited information/results to patients within scope of practice.
Coordinate referrals to other specialty clinics.
Coordinate clerical functions.
Prepare and stock exam and workrooms.
Maintain instruments, equipment and supplies.
Minimum Education Requirements
High School Diploma/GED
Vocational School/Certificate ProgGraduate of accredited program as Medical Assistant.
Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements
Basic or limitedKnowledge and skills listed on the Group Health Medical Assistant Competencies/Skills Inventory.
Minimum Experience Requirements
Minimum License/Certifications Requirements
At time of hireMedical Assistant-Certified credential or Interim Medical Assistant-Certified credential. Washington State Department of Health issued credential. Interim credential expires 1 year from date of issuance.
Able to obtain shortly after hireCurrent Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
