Kaiser Permanente Senior Consultant in Oakland, California
Our team in the National Quality Function generates value by converting information into an asset for leaders, providers, and the communities we serve. Our client engagement team serves Kaiser Foundation Hospitals / Health Plan and Permanente Medical Group Quality Leaders and ensures they easily connect with experts and information to accelerate learning, spread, and alignment. Through a distributed model, where work is coordinated across the organization, we close the -knowing-doing gap- by advising senior executives on prioritization, incentive, implementation, and performance optimization decisions.
In collaboration with leads and the Senior Director, this position will provide comprehensive consultative support and serve as a trusted national partner to link stakeholder needs with appropriate resources distributed across the organization. The Senior Consultant will be accountable for supporting end-to-end consultation support, including: project management; planning and prioritization; measurement strategy development; qualitative and quantitative due diligence; monitoring and reporting; recommendation development and delivery; and support for implementation, scale-up, and spread. The Senior Consultant will leverage functional expertise and a facilitative approach to ensure successful execution of goals that are aligned with the priorities of the Chief Medical Officer / Executive Vice President and inter-regional executive Quality Leaders.
Supports multiple complex initiatives and inter-departmental project teams with minimal supervision
Partners with leads to provide direct consultation to clinical, operational, and analytical leaders; ensures customer service orientation
Engages with internal and external subject matter experts to conduct qualitative and quantitative due diligence
Surfaces promising practices, collates information, and delivers formal presentations / recommendations to diverse audiences of senior leaders and stakeholders
Facilitates and contributes to regional and/or national workgroups
Manages in ambiguity, establishes effective working relationships, leads through influence, and executes through deep collaboration across disciplines
Utilizes advanced application of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) and other analytic and communication tools, as appropriate
- Minimum five (5) years of related experience.
Bachelor's degree in relevant field required, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration

Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
Full knowledge of industry practices.
Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in applicable discipline, plus working knowledge of other related fields.
