Kaiser Permanente Regional Director, Continuum of Care Technology Portfolio Services in Oakland, California
Provides leadership and direction in driving and implementing a model of care program serving Medi-Care members that aligns with the organization's mission, strategies and objectives. Collaborates with medical centers for the successful adaptation, deployment and sustainability of the program.
Leads and directs the regionwide implementation of a Medicare model of care program designed to address the needs of Medicare members, improve the quality and services for their care and ensure the appropriate utilization of services available to them. Implements strategies and plans to meet organizational goals and objectives.
Partners and collaborates with TPMG, KFHP, KFH and Program Office leaders on efforts towards implementing the Medicare model of care program's strategy. Identifies and works with stakeholders to execute strategy both regionwide and locally in each medical center.
Leads visible and complex projects focusing on performance improvement and transformation aimed at improving the quality and services provided to Medicare members. Develops, implements and evaluates effective pilots, programs, practices derived from market leading care and evidence-based research and performance outcomes.
Assesses and communicates project status, key business risks and vulnerabilities to senior management. Recommends appropriate action steps or interventions. Oversees implementation where appropriate. Provides visibility and identifies key drivers for all essential areas of performance. Ensures regular reporting of quantitative and qualitative data to inform deployment status and operational performance.
Oversees project budgets and ensures appropriate actions are taken to address budget variances and achieving year end balances.
Manages senior and mid level management staff including hiring, terminations and evaluating individual employee performance. Provides coaching, support and direction to to staff to ensure the achievement of goals and to meet their development needs.
Minimum ten (10) years of experience in the health care industry, preferably in a multi-faceted health care system and multi-service provider setting.
Minimum of seven (7) years' management experience including project management, data management or managing analytical or professional staff. Education
Bachelor's Degree in business administration, health care administration, public health, or related field. License, Certification, Registration
Demonstrated ability to determine key business issues and develop appropriate project plans from multi-disciplinary perspectives.
Proficient in team building, conflict resolution, group interaction and dynamics, project management, cost effectiveness, and budget management.
Excellent skills in complex analytic problem solving, customer service, project management, change management, and group process.
Must exhibit strong process orientation, efficiency, collaboration, candor, openness, and results orientation.
Must possess effective interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.
Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills, presentation skills, and must exemplify key leadership attributes.
Knowledge of Medicare policy and operations preferred.
Skilled in process improvement.
Ability to interpret qualitative, quantitative data.
Minimum of two (2) years' experience in Medicare policy and operations.
Master's degree in business administration, health care administration or public health.
Operational experience in any are of Continuum of CAre :Home Health, Hospice, DME, Outside Referrals, SNF
Experience leading, participating or implementing technology projects
Experience in quality improvement efforts Medical QA or LEAN methods or other
Experience in developing strategic plans and partnering with TPMG and KFH leaders
KP Healthconect experience a plus.
