Kaiser Permanente Epic / HealthConnect Site Supervisor (Epic Implementation exper. preferred or other EMR system) in Fontana, California

The SSD Site Supervisor's accountabilities entail direct supervision, planning, and consultative leadership and project management responsibilities. Under the direction of the KP Health Connect Site Leader, assists in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the operation of the KP Health Connect site team in the assigned geographic area.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Assists Site Leader with hiring, firing, coaching, counseling and developing staff and preparing and delivering annual performance evaluations.

  • Assists Site Leader with maintaining operational and performance standards.

  • Monitors and evaluates the overall service delivery for KPHC.

  • Utilizes data to monitor work of their department and analyzes trends.

  • Participates with KPHC Site Leader to develop short and long term plans to improve service level and department efficiency.

  • Participates with Site Team Leader, or may take the lead in, developing support schedule for site team, which is a master schedule for team's activities, including demos, dept meetings, 1:1 support, rounding, activities related to opening new MOBs/Hospital units, support for Medical Center initiatives, on call schedule for after hours coverage, etc.

  • Engages staff in problem solving.

  • TIME & PHRS system approval, ETO request approval Leads Staff meetings when Site Team Leader is not available.

  • Participates with Site Team Leader in monitoring and controlling payroll, non-payroll and expenditures for assigned areas.

  • Oversee 24/7 coverage provided by members of their teams.

  • Available to assist with complex problems.


  • Under direction of Site Team Leader, consult to and collaborate with KFH and SCPMG Medical Center leadership teams, managers and physician leaders on medical center initiatives, strategies, ongoing KPHC optimization, new KPHC product rollout, new KPHC functionality implementation and any operational initiatives that have potential KPHC impact and workflow changes where there is a KPHC impact Participate in Medical Center committees.

  • For example: IT Steering Committee; QA Committees; Compliance Meetings; Inpatient and Ambulatory Oversight Committee Meetings; Construction Meetings Liaison between regional team(s) and Medical Center to solve issues, be ambassador for KPHC.

  • Provide status updates to leadership teams - Med Center Administrative Team (MCAT), Chiefs, DA's.


  • Under overall direction of the KP Health Connect Site Leader, provides leadership and project management for all KPHC-related activities involved in opening new MOBs, Services, departments or hospitals/hospital units, to ensure KPHC set up is accurate and activities of other teams (e.g. CPM, ITFS, etc.) are completed on time.

  • Coordinate all activation plan activities and conduct touch point meetings with all departments and applications involved.

  • Participate in Site Walks for new equipment or new buildings, understanding workflows that drive equipment placement and providing expert advise on equipment placement.


  • Participate with Site Team Leader to develop and implement plans for end user training and communication related to new products and new functionality.

  • Participate with Site Team Leader to develop end user support plan and schedule for significant upgrades.


  • Prioritization of projects requested from SSD and from Medical Center Coordinate with Regional Project Teams and assist them in developing relationships and understanding medical center structure, culture and operations to ensure successful product rollout.


  • Operational Problem Solving - respond to customer needs and issues.

  • Partner and coordinate with Regional SSD Teams on research and resolution of system issues.

  • Partner with medical center leadership to resolve workflow issues that involve KPHC functionality.

  • Provides consultative services to all KPH/HP and SCPMG departments and services regarding KPHC Coordinate and facilitate planned and unplanned system outages.

  • Assist with development and modification of policies and procedures related to downtimes.

  • Coordinate communications and assist department leadership with planning for downtimes and associated recovery efforts.

  • Working with the KPHC Trainers, coordinate NEO Training schedules for KPHC.

  • OTHER:

  • Coordinate Medical Center SOX Quarterly Access Review for KPHC.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Minimum four (4) years of progressive experience in management, project management or system implementation, user support or training.


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, health care administration, operations research, public health, administration or other related fieldOR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration

  • N/A.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Epic or other similar Electronic Medical Record system.

  • Experience in implementing, providing or managing user support functions for a complex computer system.

  • Experience in health care strongly preferred.

  • Master's degree or clinical licenses strongly preferred.


  • Frequent travel within San Bernardino County area and periodically to others areas in SCAL.

  • Schedule will flex for deployments and other projects.
