Kaiser Permanente Accountant II in Aurora, Colorado
Prepares and reviews financial transactions, operating statements, reconciles and adjusts balance sheet accounts and researches inquiries from supervisors and upper management, as assigned. Provides guidance to and reviews work of support and accounting staff for designated areas, as assigned. Also monitors staff activities and provide technical assistance as necessary. Maintain and support a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance for Accounting. Maintains knowledge of olicies and procedures and performs in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, external laws and accreditation standards as they relate to Accounting.
Prepares and reviews journal entries for month end close as assigned, in a timely and accurate manner.
Prepares and reviews assigned statements and schedules for our monthly report of operations.
Reconciles and adjusts assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, to be reviewed.
Researches and responds to inquiries from departmental supervisors concerning the recording of revenue and expense. Prepares audit work papers as assigned to be reviewed.
Maintains knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Statutory Accounting Principles, and keeps abreast of changes that are inherent in accounting regulations for reporting and compliance with rules and regulations. This includes (but not limited to) Public Accounting Oversight Board Auditing Guidelines, Financial Standards Accounting Board Guidelines, American Institute of CPA's Guidelines, Colorado State Accountancy Board Rules and Regulations.
Responsible for knowledge of Kaiser Accounting Policies as provided by Program Office Controller's office.
- Minimum two (2) years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
License, Certification, Registration
Ability to apply accounting principles and techniques in performing a variety of accounting assignments including; general ledger entries, account reconciliation, bank account reconciliation, and preparation of financial reports.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ten-key by touch required.
