The Clinical Lab Assistant performs the pre-analytic phases of laboratory testing procedures and may also perform the analytic and post analytic phases of waived testing procedures. Duties include face to face and telephone customer service; computer data entry and retrieval, workplace cleanliness and maintenance. S/he is responsible for documentation of all activities, monitoring supplies, and compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements related to safety and lab testing. Responsible for following Kaiser Permanente Laboratory policies and procedures. Qualifications: Education Minimum Education Requirements High School Diploma/GED Preferred Education Some College Phlebotomy and clinical laboratory training. Knowledge/Skills Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements Basic or limited Basic computer skills; good written and verbal communication skills, customer service and problem-solving skills Preferred Knowledge/Skills Unspecified Experience Minimum Experience Requirements None Required Preferred Experience Other Experience Recent completion of a phlebotomy program or recent phlebotomy and clinical laboratory experience. License/Certifications Minimum License/Certifications Requirements At time of hire Eligible for Washington State Department of Health issued credential: MA- Phlebotomist certification. Must apply within 7 days of hire and receive the credential within 60 days of hire. Preferred License/Certifications At time of hire Washington State Department of Health issued credential.
