The Network Finance Analytics team is looking for a motivated individual who wants to continue developing their career as an analyst or actuarial student. As part of Kaiser Permanente Health Plan of Washington’s Actuarial department, we serve as internal consultants to Network Services, Provider Relations, Care Management, Care Delivery and others. As part of our team, you’ll provide analytic evaluation and support to current and proposed business strategies. Specifically, this role will be tasked with:

Building regular & ad hoc reports in Tableau and/or a Cognos-based platform. Reports use detailed data from an episode grouper, and compare utilization and cost patterns for various services, provider specialties, etc.

Using these reports, analyze the financial impact of business strategies related to provider network management, utilization management, and population health management.

Ensure a high quality internal client experience by relying on your ability to build relationships and trust across the organization.

This position works with a team of analysts and actuaries to support premium rate setting, provider contract analysis, network analysis, Medicare bid submissions, underwriting and other financial risks associated with health insurance. The Risk Analyst IV builds and maintains analytic models and provides basic analytics. They may work independently or under the supervision of more experienced analytics. Qualifications: Education Minimum Education Requirements Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science or related fields. Or in lieu of a degree 2 years of relevant experience (plus any additional experience that is required). Preferred Education Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Health Informatics & Information Management or related fields.

Demonstrated knowledge in analysis of member, purchaser, and provider contracting Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills

Demonstrated understanding of insurance principles

Demonstrated working knowledge and skills in financial modeling

Familiarity of financial transaction flow within operational and financial systems Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
