Kaiser Permanente Regional Wellness Consultant in Oakland, California

This position will lead work on problems of complex & diverse scope where analysis of data requires in-depth evaluation of various factors & ensure strategic direction of projects are in line w/ organizational business plan. Projects assigned are broad in scope & may involve multiple functional areas as it relates to improving the health, wellness & improving the work environment of our employees. In addition, the position will lead the development & maintenance of the core reg'l employee wellness programs, turn-key resource guides/toolkits & templates in the areas of: prevention, physical activity, nutrition, stress (emotional health) & work environment. The core responsibilities of this role include: a) supporting the Local/Reg'l Employee Wellness Leadership and/or being the primary lead on various projects, all core program/activity development/evaluation; b) managing & providing consulting & analysis for multiple programs & projects; such as: provide program development & maintenance support for all reg'l employee wellness programs (Prevention, Physical Activity, Nutrition, Stress (emotional health related programs), Work Environment Standardize tools (Resource guides, programs & website) Communication campaign development & coordination for programming Development & tracking coordination of Area & Reg'l employee wellness programs progress, inventory, metrics/dashboards; Coordinate website content working to supervise website coordinator; Coordinates & facilitates sharing successful practice forms c) serving as HR point of contact for various projects; d) Working w/ the Wellness leadership team to support the development & follow through of Local/Reg'l Employee Wellness program goals & objectives; e) Working w/ the Wellness leadership team to lead the development of key strategic areas for events and/or meetings which convene Northern CA Wellness Leaders, Local Wellness Contacts & program Advisory group meetings or forums; f) facilitating the collaboration of inter-departmental activities in support of wellness related efforts; & g) conducting evaluation of the overall Employee Wellness Program utilization & other metrics, needs & gaps.

Essential Responsibilities: - Working under the direction of the regional Program Director for Employee Wellness & executive sponsors - Leads strategic efforts & projects through concept, design, development, implementation, & evaluation phases to include analysis of value, effectiveness, & ROI - Develops, prepares & presents communications to Sr Level Mgmt, Sponsors & Advisors in support of the Employee Wellness function - Takes responsibility for segments of operational budget planning & employee wellness-related goals & metrics - Design effective meeting agendas & facilitate meetings in person & by phone conference, & produce meeting minutes for communication - Lead the development & implementation of Employee Wellness toolkits & other products & deliverables - Will represent Employee Wellness as liaison & participate w/ stakeholder committees, at meetings & on tasks forces - Act as an HR point of contact for Employee Wellness, facilitates access to wellness content expertise to key KP functional departments; conduct surveys - Assists Wellness Lead in partnering w/ key departments - Collaborates w/ the local, regional & national wellness-related efforts to link programs, resources & strategies to ensure consistency around wellness objectives across the region/program - Provide analytical support - Manage & assist in the development & maintenance of the Employee Wellness Website - 30% travel w/in the region

Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Experience - Minimum seven (7) years of progressive project mgmt & consulting experience (e.g., preferably in one or more of the following areas Employee Wellness, Health Promotion, Behavior Change, Work Place Safety, Employee Health, Environmental Services, Benefits/Comp, Health Risk Appraisal, Work force planning for healthcare , EAP, HR Policy, Total comp, benefits, or incentive strategies.) w/ demonstrated ability to determine key business issues & develop effective strategic directions & implementation plans from a multi-disciplinary perspective - Minimum three (3) years of experience in a healthcare environment (e.g., experience w/ direct patient care/clinical care & operations preferred) - Minimum four (4) years experience as a consultant to internal/external clients & various levels of mgmt/leadership Education - Bachelor's degree in HR, industrial organization psychology, public health admin, operations research or a related field OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field. - High School Diploma OR General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration - N/A

Preferred Qualifications: - Minimum seven (7) years working w/in the KPNC region in any of the following areas: Employee Wellness, Health Promotion, Work Place Safety, Employee Health, Environmental Services, Benefits/Comp, EAP, and/or HR, preferred. - Minimum five (5) years of experience implementing efforts such as wellness, health promotion, work place safety, employee health, retention & morale boosting strategies, preferred. - Minimum five (5) years in a large organization w/ experience in large organization w/ demonstrated success in building collaborative efforts w/ multiple stakeholders, preferred. - Four (4) years of experience w/ Communication and/or Mktg efforts, preferred. - Four (4) years working in collaboration w/ Employee Wellness, Health Promotion, Behavior Change, Work Place Safety, Employee Health, Environmental Svcs, Benefits/Comp, Health Risk Appraisal, Work force planning for healthcare, EAP, HR Policy, Total comp, benefits, or incentive strategies, preferred. - Experience w/ HR policies & practices, preferred.
