Kaiser Permanente Laboratory Aide Client Service in Honolulu, Hawaii

Under direct supervision, performs variety of routine and semi-routine receptionists, office, clerical or patient attending duties; assures safe, courteous and timely transport of equipment, supplies, specimens and any other items as directed by supervisor; performs occasional cleaning duties as requested.

Essential Functions: - Inspects equipment for safety; refrains from using equipment not in proper working order; informs supervisor of inoperative equipment for appropriate action. - Ensures confidentiality of all patient information. - Picks-up, delivers or returns records, equipment, specimens, etc., from areas within Medical Center and Annex. - Assists in packing specimen(s) as needed if trained and certified. - Assists in operation, maintenance and use of variety of printers (e.g. high speed and laser printers) as needed; assists in sorting and printing interim and final copies of patient results for distribution and charting as needed. - Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to provide care and/or service appropriate to age groups served. - Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to provide culturally sensitive care and/or service. - Performs other duties and accepts responsibility as assigned.

Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Experience - N/A Education - High School Diploma; or equivalent combination of education (lesser)&experience may be considered in lieu of requirements. License, Certification, Registration - N/A

Additional Requirements: - General knowledge of lab operations and safety. - Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in customer service, oral communication, and written communication. - Talking to co-workers, customers, outside vendors, and on the telephone. - Reading, writing, speaking, understanding English. - Training/giving and receiving instructions. - Mathematical ability, attention to detail (e.g., organization, prioritization, proofing), concentration, and alertness.

Preferred Qualifications: - Six (6) months ofcomputer experience. - Type 35 wpm. - Internal training document for Department of Transportation (DOT)/International Air Transportation Association (IATA) handling and packing hazardous material (e.g., specimens).
