Kaiser Permanente Senior EPIC-IT Trainer in Atlanta, Georgia
This position provides quality training and educational services for all levels of KP clinicians and staff that use Epic computer tools in their daily work. Conducts technical computer training courses for internal staff. Uses needs assessment tools to determine effectiveness of proposed training programs. Interacts with functional organizations to develop specifications for content of courses. Prepares lesson plans including the method, media, and content to be presented. Instructs participants in classroom and virtual training courses. Conducts follow up to determine applicability of course material and effectiveness of training event. Essential Functions: In this role you will: - Determine and prioritize key short and long range learning goals and objectives in alignment with company/regional strategic goals and direction. - Provide computer classroom instruction for a variety of Epic software products. Research, design, and produce appropriate written instructor and student materials. Develop and publish web/virtual training using software such as Articulate, Captivate, and Camtasia. - Act as a change agent and catalyst of enthusiasm to create positive energy in students,co-workers, and peers. - Assess target audience's learning needs in support of organizational strategy, core processes, and identified competencies. - Identify knowledge & skill gaps and develop training plans to close the gaps. - Conduct post instruction outcome evaluations measuring effectiveness of training programs at Kirkpatricks Level I, II, III. - Provide coordination of regional computer training activities by understanding patient care processes across departments and disciplines. - Maintain open communication channels among various staff & management. Establish collaborative working relationships with the requestor and the target audience. - Lead the training portion of regional projects by actively participating on project teams. - Provide project status reporting and create and manage the training timeline and deliverables to ensure positive training outcomes within budget and on time implementation.
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Experience - Minimum five (5) years in conducting presentations and developing training/organizational development programs. Education - Bachelor's degree in education, computer science or instructional design, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field. - High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration - N/A
Preferred Qualifications: - Minimum five (5) years of IT systems training experience. - Experience training Epic system. - Master-s degree in related field. - Experience creating Web and Virtual based training. - Epic Certification - Informatics Certification.
- Previous clinical experience is highly desired. Examples of roles include: RN, Nutritionist, Radiology or Medical Technologist, Pharmacist, etc. Additional Requirements:
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge of health care business operations, management practices and principles.
- Knowledge of adult learning theory and ability to apply principles in a computer training environment.
- Working knowledge of data collection, analysis and statistical techniques.
- Proficient in use of: word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software.
